Scoring On Display In Latest #BIGEASTwlax Weekly Awards

BIG EAST Attacker Of The Week
Caroline Steller, Marquette, Jr., M
Steller sparked the Golden Eagles in a 1-1 cross-country road swing out in Tempe, Ariz., totaling nine points off six goals and three assists. She added four ground balls and a caused turnover in a narrow setback to host Arizona State and a one-goal win over Fresno State. The junior’s weekend was highlighted by a six-point outburst in the victory over the Bulldogs, totaling four goals and two assists. The Golden Eagles went on a decisive 9-0 run in the middle of the contest which included three goals and an assist for Steller during that stretch.

BIG EAST Midfielder Of The Week
Natalia Lynch, Georgetown, Sr., M
Lynch repeats as top midfielder after totaling 10 points off four goals and six assists, 18 draw controls, two ground balls and two caused turnovers in a 1-1 week for the Hoyas. Against Johns Hopkins on Wednesday, the senior set the single-game program record with 14 draw controls, while totaling seven points off three goals and four assists. She followed with a goal and two assists, along with four draws in Saturday’s win over Delaware. One of her two dishes against the Blue Hens was on Ali Diamond’s overtime game winner.   

BIG EAST Defensive Player Of The Week
Amanda Rumsey, Butler, Jr., GK
The junior goalkeeper was impressive in the cage with a 2-0 record, .579 save percentage and 8.00 goals against average in wins over Kent State and Akron. Rumsey faced 57 shots over the weekend and registered 11 saves in each contest, surrendering single-digit goals in both contests as Butler improved to 4-1 on the year.   
 
BIG EAST Freshman Of The Week
Kaley Attaway, Butler, Fr., M
Attaway scored four goals in the Bulldogs’ two weekend wins, highlighted by her first collegiate hat trick in the 14-7 win at Akron. The true freshman also had two ground balls, two caused turnovers and a draw control in the victory. Attaway had a goal in the 18-9 win at Kent State, bringing her to five on the season.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Ali Diamond, Georgetown, So., A
Diamond led Georgetown with eight points off six goals and two assists, highlighted by scoring the overtime game winner over Delaware on Saturday.  
Quintin Hoch-Bullen, Denver, Jr., A
Hoch-Bullen scored a career-high seven goals in the 10th-ranked Pioneers’ loss at Vanderbilt on Sunday; 10 of her 11 shots landed on target and the junior scored four of Denver’s five goals in the second half en route to her first career sock trick.
Brittany Bruno, Villanova, Jr., A
Bruno totaled 10 points off seven goals and three assists in a difficult week for the Wildcats. She began with six points off five goals and an assist against No. 12/13 Princeton before totaling two goals, two assists and two draws against Drexel.
