BIG EAST Attacker Of The Week
Julia Gilbert, Denver, Jr., A
Gilbert was the BIG EAST’s top goal scorer last week, scoring six off of eight shots taken as the Pioneers defeated Louisville 19-9 on Sunday. The junior attacker added two ground balls. Denver was fast out of the gate, opening the game on an 8-1 run with Gilbert scoring three of those goals.
BIG EAST Midfielder Of The Week
Kaley Attaway, Butler, Jr., M
Attaway had a team-high five points off four goals and an assist in Saturday’s 11-10 win at Kent State. The junior scored what proved to be the game-winning goal with 1:06 remaining after providing clutch goals earlier in the contest which tied the score at 3-3, then gave Butler a 5-4 advantage.
BIG EAST Defensive Player Of The Week
Nicole Massimino, Georgetown, Grad., D
The Massimino-led defense limited American to 17 shots on goal in Saturday’s 20-8 victory, while the Hoyas disrupted half of AU’s clear attempts for a 9-of-18 finish. The eight goals allowed were the fewest by a BIG EAST team during opening weekend, with Massimino adding four ground balls and a caused turnover.
BIG EAST Freshman Of The Week
Emma Gebhardt, Georgetown, Fr., A
In her collegiate debut, Gebhardt totaled four points off a hat trick and assist, scoring on three of her six shots while adding a ground ball in Georgetown’s 20-8 win at American.

Shea Garcia, Marquette, Sr., A – tied for the weekly high with six points off three goals and three assists in Saturday’s win over Cincinnati; three of four shots were on goal
Kailee Lammers, Denver, Sr., D – helped limit Louisville to nine goals and outshot the Cardinals 39-25; added one goal, four ground balls and four caused turnovers in Sunday’s win
Leigh Steiner, Marquette, So., M – four points off three goals and an assist; added six draw controls as MU topped Cincinnati 16-13
