BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Jason Shokalook, Akron, Jr., F (Erie, Pa.)
Shokalook continued his dominating run of play last week registering four goals in victories over Northern Kentucky and DePaul to extend the Zips’ winning streak to three. He finished the week recording a team-high 18 shots, including nine on goal. He tallied two goals against both squads and has now posted a brace in three consecutive matches. After battling Northern Kentucky through a scoreless opening half, Shokalook found the back of the net with what proved to be the game-winning tally on a header inside the box in the 55th minute. He added another goal in the 63rd minute and finished the evening with a career-high total in shots (9) and shots on goal (7). Shokalook again led the Zips against DePaul, as Akron scored three goals in the second half to earn a 3-0 victory. He found the back of the net in the 73rd and 81st minute, respectively, for his team-leading ninth and 10th goals of the year. On the season, Shokalook owns conference-high marks in goals (10), points (24), shots (52) and shots on goal (27). Nationally, he ranks third in goals per game (0.91), fourth in points per game (2.18), second in shots per game (4.73) and second in shot on goal per game (2.45).

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Maximus Jennings, Georgetown, Jr., D (Montclair, N.J.)
Jennings anchored the Hoyas’ defense in a pair of shutouts over the weekend, as Georgetown (8-1-1) extended its win streak to six games. In a midweek non-conference tilt with Princeton, Jennings and the Hoyas’ defense limited the Tigers to just five shots on goal in a 3-0 victory. In Saturday’s BIG EAST matchup against UConn, the Huskies were limited to just four shots on target. Offensively, Jennings opened the scoring in the 51st minute with his third tally of the year, resulting in the game-winner of a 3-0 triumph. Overall, the Hoyas jumped to second in the latest NCAA Men’s Soccer RPI rankings.
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Alec McLachlan, St. John’s, So., GK (Stockport, England)
McLachlan went 1-0-1 last week, earning a victory against Columbia and a clean sheet against Providence. After tallying three saves against the Lions, McLachlan stood tall, doubling his stops with six saves against the Friars for a total of nine on the week. The Red Storm goalkeeper made a pair of diving saves early on before his 82nd-minute save on a Friar’s breakaway that kept the game scoreless. McLachlan earned his third clean sheet of the season in the 0-0 conference draw. Overall, McLachlan faced 16 shots, made nine saves and boasted a 0.900 save percentage on the week.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Ryan Hannosh, Butler, Fr., F (Farmington Hills, Mich.)
Registering his first collegiate points in a 1-0-1 week for the Bulldogs, Hannosh led Butler’s scoring attack with a goal and three assists. In a 3-1 win over IUPUI on Tuesday, Hannosh collected his first collegiate assist in the 12th minute after connecting with Palmer Ault for the opening goal of the match. He later doubled the Butler lead with a goal in the 28
th minute. Hannosh collected his fourth point and second assist of the game in the 57
th minute to put the match out of reach. In Saturday’s conference tilt with Creighton, Hannosh re-directed a ball between his legs to find Jack Streberger for the game-tying goal in the 88th minute.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Malik Henry, Akron, Jr., D (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada)
Henry led a defensive effort for the Zips that resulted in a pair of shutouts against Northern Kentucky and DePaul. Akron held its opponents to six total shots, with four coming on net to extend the Zips’ winning streak to three games. Offensively, Henry dished out a pair of assists in the 2-0-0 week.
Mitch Budler, Akron, RSo., GK (Lincoln, Neb.)
Budler collected a pair of clean sheets over the weekend, corralling four saves over the pair of outings. On the season, Budler owns a 0.67 goals against average and a 0.737 save percentage on the strength of five shutouts.
Marlon Tabora, Georgetown, Sr., F (Rockville, Md.)
Tabora led Georgetown’s offense with six points, dishing out a pair of assists in a win over Princeton, before scoring two goals in a win over UConn. Tabora has now scored 10 points (3G, 4A) in his last three outings, adding to his career total of 43 points.
Lukas Burns, Providence, Sr., GK (Cinnaminson, N.J.)
Burns registered’ four saves in a pair of shutouts over the weekend, collecting two saves in a 1-0 win over Siena on Tuesday, before making two crucial stops in a 0-0 draw against St. John’s on Saturday.
Jonny Mennell, Xavier, So., GK (Asheville, N.C.)
Mennell helped Xavier post a 1-0-1 week, starting with a five save shutout performance on Tuesday against Ohio State. On Saturday against Marquette, Mennell corralled two saves in a 2-1 victory, as Xavier maintained its hold at the top of the BIG EAST Midwest Standings with a 3-1-0 mark.
