BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week
Noah Manning, Denver, So., A (Victoria, British Columbia, Canada)
Repeating as BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week, Manning registered a career-high four goals in a 13-9 win over Merrimack. The sophomore attacker also collected a pair of ground balls, while taking eight shot attempts. This season, Manning has tallied multiple points in each of Denver’s four games.
BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Matt Campbell, Villanova, Gr., M (Madison, N.J.)
Campbell led the way offensively for Villanova with five goals in a 13-12 win over No. 10 Delaware. He scored the go-ahead and eventual game-winning goal with 1:39 to play in a back-and-forth game. The game-winner also was the 128th career goal of his career, which ties the Villanova career mark.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Mason Woodward, Marquette, Sr., D (Towson, Md.)
Woodward posted a game-high seven ground balls, caused two turnovers and added an assist in Marquette’s 14-9 victory over Michigan on Saturday in the Southwest Florida Shootout. He entered the weekend second in the country among non-faceoff specialists in ground balls per game and reached his season averages in ground balls (7.0), caused turnovers (2.0) and points (1.0). The assist was his fourth point in as many games this season.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Dan Anderson, Denver, SSDM (Syracuse, N.Y.)
Anderson scored his first-career goal in transition in Denver’s 13-9 win over Merrimack on Saturday.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Griffin Fries, Marquette, Sr., M
Fries set new career highs in goals (4) and points (5) in Marquette’s 14-9 victory over Michigan on Saturday. He scored twice in the game’s first nine minutes to help MU out to an early 4-0 lead.
Pat Daly, Villanova, Gr., A
Recorded his third straight hat trick to begin the season, scoring on all three of his shots on goal against Delaware. He also matched a career high with five ground balls for the second straight game.
Chet Comizio, Villanova, Gr., SSDM
Had a career-high seven ground balls against Delaware. Had a team-high two caused turnovers in the game, including his second of the day with 35 seconds remaining as Villanova protected a one-goal lead.
