PROVIDENCE – Top-seeded Georgetown took down No. 2 seeded Providence, 14-6, Saturday afternoon at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in the 2026 BIGE AST Men’s Lacrosse Championship Presented by Jeep.

The Hoyas (10-4, 5-0 BIG EAST) extended its NCAA men’s lacrosse record, lifting the trophy for an eighth consecutive season. Overall, the Hoyas improved to 8-1 all-time in the title game and extended its dominance in the BIG EAST Tournament with a 16-game winning streaking, improving to 17-2 overall. The Hoyas have earned the automatic bid for the BIG EAST Conference; Georgetown will await its NCAA Championship fate in Sunday night’s selection show at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

The Friars (8-9, 3-2 BE) struck first with 11:51 remaining in the first quarter when Rhett Chambers connected with Chris Matia. Georgetown’s Ty Banks evened the tally in a low scoring opening frame, scoring his first goal of the season off an assist by Charlie McGurrin with just under eight minutes remaining in the opening quarter.
