BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week
Bobby O'Grady, Marquette, So., A (Milton, Mass.)
The reigning BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, O'Grady pushed his career-long goal scoring streak to 16 games with a six-goal, one-assist effort in the season opener against Lindenwood. O'Grady notched his eighth career hat trick in the win and third sock trick of his career. The sophomore now has 51 goals through 16 games and is the eighth player in Marquette history to reach the 50-goal plateau.
BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Michael Chabra, Providence, Jr., M (Reading, Mass.)
Leading Providence to a 12-9 season-opening win over Holy Cross on Sunday, Chabra tallied four goals to lead the Friars. Chabra started off hot with a pair of goals in the opening period to give the Friars an early 4-2 advantage. After registering 25 goals in 13 games a season ago, the junior midfielder now has 31 goals in 22 career contests.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Jack Thompson, Denver, Sr., Goalie (Castle Rock, Colo.)
Thompson led the defensive effort in No. 18 Denver's, 12-4, win over [RV] Utah. Thompson corralled nine saves in the win, allowing just four goals in 58:45 of action. Improving to 23-11 in his collegiate career, Thompson capped the afternoon with a .692 save percentage.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Andrew Bowman, Marquette, A (Nanaimo, British Columbia)
Bowman registered two goals in his collegiate opener, earning the start in the the midfield. The first-year attacker scored both goals in the first quarter to help Marquette jump out to a 7-1 lead in a 17-2 win over Lindenwood.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
JJ Sillstrop, Denver, Sr., A
Sillstrop assisted on the season-opening goal and scored twice in the second half to distance the Pioneers from the visiting Utes.
Mason Woodward, Marquette, Sr., D
Woodward led a Marquette defensive unit that limited Lindenwood to just two goals on Saturday. The All-American registered five ground balls and caused a turnover while also scoring his third career goal in the third quarter.
Ryan Bell, Providence, So., M
Bell tallied two goals and an assist in Sunday's win over Holy Cross, while also registering four ground balls.
