NEW YORK – Two BIG EAST women's soccer teams heard their names called on Monday afternoon during the 2024 NCAA Championship Selection Show. UConn, which earned the league's automatic bid, was joined in the field by at-large selection Georgetown.
The Huskies are making their 32nd NCAA Tournament appearance in program history as they will face Rutgers on Saturday, November 16 at 5 p.m. in the first round.
No. 6 seeded Georgetown will host Fairfield at noon on Saturday, November 16. This is the 13
th straight year the Hoyas have earned an NCAA Tournament bid and the 15
th time overall.
This is the fourth straight NCAA Championship that the BIG EAST has multiple teams in the field. The conference landed three teams in the field last season, with Georgetown advancing into the second round of the tournament.
NCAA Championship First Round matches are scheduled from November 15 to the 17th at campus sites. Second and Third Round contests will be played at non-predetermined campus sites through November 22 and November 24. The Quarterfinals are set for November 29 or November 30 at four non-predetermined campus sites. The 2024 Women's College Cup will be held at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C.
Two single-elimination semifinal matches will be held on December 6 at 5 and 7:30 p.m., with the two winning teams advance to the National Championship on December 9 at 7 p.m. on ESPNU.
