Xavier Loses to TCU in Only Thursday Contest

MBB Minute – In Big 12-BIG EAST Battle action on Thursday, Xavier was beaten by TCU, 76-72. The Musketeers erased an eight-point halftime deficit to lead by as many as six in the second half, but fell to the Horned Frogs in the only game on the BIG EAST schedule.
 
Xavier (7-2) was paced by Ryan Conwell, who led all scorers with 17 points. He connected on four three pointers, grabbed five rebounds and dished out six assists. Zach Freemantle finished with 16 points and six rebounds, posting an efficient 8-of-9 inside the arc. Xavier had 15 turnovers to eight for TCU, with the Horned Frogs holding a 13-3 advantage on steals. TCU finished with a 19-11 edge on points off turnovers.
 
BIG EAST teams are 70-25 (.737) going into Friday when the only game on the schedule is a Battle contest with Georgetown at West Virginia at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
