BIG EAST Player of the Week
Ryan Bell, Providence, Jr., M (Smithtown, N.Y.)
Bell put on a show over the week and led the Friars to a pair of wins. The junior opened the week with an eight-point performance, tallying two goals and dishing out six assists in a win over Merrimack. On Saturday, Bell added two goals and three assists, including the game-tying goal with nine-seconds remaining in regulation against Stony Brook. Overall, he tallied 13 points (4G, 9A) on the week, and has 37 points (14G, 23A) in seven games this season.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Kyle Munson, St. John’s, R-Jr., G (Merrick, N.Y.)
Munson made a season-best 15 saves on 21 shots against Binghamton. His .714 save percentage is the highest of his St. John’s career. Munson also scooped seven ground balls in the win. Saturday was the fourth time this season the netminder tallied 10 or more saves.
BIG EAST Specialist of the Week
James Ball, Georgetown, Gr., FOS (Garden City, N.Y.)
Ball dominated the faceoff X in Georgetown’s midweek win over High Point. The graduate student won 17-of-23 (.739) faceoffs to lead the Hoyas high-octane attack. In addition, Ball collected nine ground balls.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Rhett Chambers, Providence, Fr., A (Larchmont, N.Y.)
In a 2-0 week for the Friars, Chambers posted three goals and dished out an assist against Stony Brook and Merrimack.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Aidan Carroll, Georgetown, Sr., A
Led the Hoyas with four goals in a 14-8 win at High Point. Georgetown outscored the Panthers 6-0 in the fourth quarter.
Dylan Hess, Georgetown, Sr., SSDM
Hess capped the game with two caused turnovers and three ground balls. Georgetown's defense blanked High Point for the final 25:57 of the game. The Hoyas have held their last four opponents to 10 goals or less in each game
Tom Fegley, Providence, Sr., FOS
Went 22-31 on face-offs against Merrimack and scored first career goal to help lead the Friars to a 2-0 week.
Bobby Seel, St. John’s, Jr., A
Seel tallied a career-best six points on four goals and two helpers. It was also the first time he scored four goals in a single game. Seel recorded all six of his points in the second half of the Red Storm’s 13-6 win against Binghamton on Saturday, including scoring two goals 50 seconds apart in the fourth quarter. Seel is on a nine-game point and goal streak.
Justin Coppola, Villanova, 5th-Yr., FOS
Coppola went 36-50 on faceoffs in two games against Drexel and No. 13 Penn this week. Including an impressive 17-22 against Penn with 10 ground balls. The Garden City, N.Y. native has a .595 faceoff percentage this season.
Stephen Zupicich, Villanova, 5
th-Yr., LSM
Zupicich recorded six caused turnovers against Penn, the most by a Villanova player since 2016 and tied for the fifth most in a single game. Against Drexel Zupicich caused three turnovers and picked up seven ground balls.
