CAYCE, S.C. – The 2024 BIG EAST Women’s Tennis Championship will feature #1 and #2 DePaul on Monday, April 21 (1:00 p.m. ET) at the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center. The Musketeers punched their fifth consecutive ticket to the title match while the Blue Demons make their eighth appearance in nine years. Monday’s matchup represents a repeat of the 2022 and 2021 championships.

# 1 Xavier, 4 vs. #4 UConn, 0
Top-seeded Xavier swept into the finals, defeating UConn 4-0. Imani Graham and Anna Roggenburk kicked off the match with a win at No. 1 doubles, defeating Olivia Wright and Maria Constantinou, 6-4. Teammates Emily Flowers and Sofia Mazzucato followed at No. 3 with a win over Nansi Toskova and Victoria Matos to secure the doubles point.
Roggenburk registered the first point in singles play, overcoming Constantinou (6-2, 6-0) at No. 2. Graham gave the Musketeers a 3-0 advantage on the top-court, defeating Wright 6-13, 6-1. Abby Nugent ensured Xaviers’ place in the final with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Isabel Petri-Bere at No. 3 singles.
#2 DePaul, 4 vs. #6 St. John's, 0
Second-seeded DePaul defeated #6 St. John’s, 4-0, to advance to the tournament finale. The Blue Demons capitalized on a walkover at #3 doubles to win the point on the top court (Greta Carbone and Hannah Smith def. Mouna Bouzgarrou and Arina Gumerova, 6-4) following a St. John’s victory at # 2 (Noemi Babikova and Alicia Gomez def. Emily Casati and Yuliya Kizelbasheva).
Following a win by default at No. 6, DePaul pulled further ahead with a victory at No. 3 singles as Carbone defeated Nicole Sartz-Lunde 6-1, 6-4. Eleanor Nobbs sealed the match at No. 2, sending the Blue Demons back to the Championship with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Gumerova.
