BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Jack Kossoudji, Seton Hall, Gr., M (Columbus, Ohio)
Kossoudji had a four-point week helping the nationally ranked Pirates post their first 6-0-0 start since 1986. To open the week, Kossoudji had a beautiful cross into the box for an assist on Tim Strobeck's goal in a 3-1 road win at Rutgers. Then Kossoudji helped The Hall rebound from a 1-0 deficit to Harvard to win 3-2. With the match tied, it was his touch pass to Til Kauschke at the top of the box in the 61st minute that led to the second goal. And in the 79th minute, he scored what became the game-winning goal when he dribbled past two defenders and slipped the ball through the goalkeepers legs for his first goal as a Pirate.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Ryusei Shimonishi, Creighton, Jr., D (Osaka, Japan)
Making a difference on both ends of the pitch, Shimonishi headed in the game-winning goal on Monday night against Grand Canyon, while also playing a key factor in the first of two shutouts on the week. In Saturday’s 3-0 win over Tulsa, Shimonishi collected an assist, while also doing his part in limiting the Golden Hurricane to 10 shots and just three on target.
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Blake Gillingham, Creighton, Jr., GK (San Jose, Calif.)
Gillingham posted consecutive shutouts, the first time a Creighton keeper has accomplished the task since the BIG EAST Tournament in 2022 against Seton Hall (6-0) and Georgetown (3-0). The junior faced 21 shots in the two matches, notching eight combined saves. In a 1-0 win over Grand Canyon on Monday, he delivered with five saves. Gillingham again stepped up in a big way Saturday night with a trio of key saves to keep the Golden Hurricane off the scoreboard.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Til Kauschke, Seton Hall, Fr., F (Hamburg, Germany)
Kauschke had a three-point week helping the Pirates remain undefeated. First, he initiated what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 3-1 win at Rutgers. Then in the 3-2 comeback win over Harvard, Kauschke delivered a highlight reel of a goal when he one-timed a Kossoudji pass at the top of the box and blasted it past the goalkeeper at the top left corner of the net.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Caleb Norris, Butler, Gr., GK (Grand Blanc, Mich.)
Norris made 10 saves in a pair of outings, including three in a 4-1 win over Evansville on Tuesday, before making seven in a 1-0 loss to No. 12 Ohio State.
Max Kerkvliet, UConn, R-Fr., GK (Houston, Texas)
Kerkvliet helped the Huskies remain unbeaten (5-0-1) with a pair of victories over Siena (2-1) and Dartmouth (2-1). Overall, the redshirt freshman corralled nine saves, including a career-high seven Friday night against the Big Green.
Jackson Castro, Creighton, Sr., M (Plano, Texas)
In a 2-0 week, Castro set the game-winning goal in motion, earning an assist in a 1-0 win at Grand Canyon early in the week, before tallying a goal and collecting an assist in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Tulsa.
Tyler Morck, St. John’s, R-Fr., M (Bethpage, N.Y.)
Morck netted his first career goal in the Red Storm’s 1-1 draw against sixth-ranked Marshall. The midfielder logged 27 minutes off the bench and knocked home the equalizer in the 67
th minute.
Jason Bouregy, Villanova, Gr., M (Paramus, N.J.)
In a 2-2 draw Saturday night against FDU, Bouregy dished out a pair of assists to lead the Wildcats’ offensive attack.
