Denver, Marquette Split BIG EAST Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards

BIG EAST Attacker of the Week
Lauren Black, Denver, Sr., A
In a hard-fought conference win over Georgetown, Black had six goals, one assist, three ground balls and one caused turnover. She is third in the conference for goals per game this season with 33 in 10 games. 

BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Hanna Bodner, Marquette, Sr., M
In a 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles, Bodner had 11 goals, two assists, seven ground balls, one caused turnover and seven draw controls. She had a career-high eight goals and one assist for a career-high nine points against Arizona State. Her eighth goal was the game winner in overtime. She then had a hat trick and one assist against Xavier. 

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Emelia Bohi, Denver, Sr., GK
Bohi had a career-high 15 saves to help Denver beat the Hoyas 16-13. Her 15 saves were the second-most in the conference this season. 

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Tessa Boehm, Marquette, Fr., A
Boehm had a career-high three assists and one ground ball in the 19-9 win against Xavier in addition to two assists against ASU, where the Golden Eagles won 18-17 in overtime. 

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Tess Osburn, Marquette, Jr., A
Osburn scored eight goals and one assist in two games this week. She had a hat trick and four ground balls against ASU before adding five goals, one assist and one ground ball against Xavier, tying her career-high in points with six. 

Sami Carey, Villanova, Sr., A
Villanova earned its second conference win beating Butler 18-6. Carey had seven points with two goals, five assists, one ground ball and one caused turnover. 

Meghan Lane, UConn, Gr., D
In UConn’s 18-12 win at Hofstra, Lane was a key defensive contributor helping hold her opponent to just two goals in the second half. She had a career-high 12 draw controls, five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
