NEW YORK – On the eve of the 2025 BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Championship presented by JEEP, the league announced the regular season award winners and All-BIG EAST First and Second Teams.

Georgetown, the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed and co-BIG EAST regular season champions, earned five major awards – Aidan Carroll was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, Ty Banks was selected as Defensive Player of the Year, Anderson Moore was unanimously voted Goalkeeper of the Year, and Ross Prince earned both Specialist and Freshman of the Year honors.

Returning to the tournament for the first time since 2022, Marquette’s staff, led by first-year head coach Jake Richard, was honored as the BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year.

Rounding out the major awards, Villanova’s Long-Stick Midfielder Jake Melchionni garnered a share of Specialist of the Year honors with Prince.

Carroll, a unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST First Team, capped conference play averaging 4.0 points per game, tallying 14 goals and dishing out six assists in five league games. Overall, he ranks second in the conference through 13 contests averaging 4.08 points per game, capping the regular season with 33 goals and 20 assists.

Anchoring the Georgetown back line, Banks captured BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year accolades and was a unanimous selection on the All-BIG EAST First Team. With 1.21 caused turnovers per game (21 overall), he ranks second in the BIG EAST, while also collecting 33 ground balls. As a team, Georgetown ranks 12th in the nation with just 9.08 goals allowed per game in 2025.

In his second season, Moore has been named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year and unanimous First Team All-BIG EAST member. The Georgetown netminder led the Hoyas to a 4-1 mark in league play, in addition to registering a .561 save percentage against 98 shots faced in conference competition. Overall, with a 9-4 regular season mark, Moore registered a .534 save percentage in 13 games, and has made 132 saves on the year, with a league best average of 9.02 goals against.

Villanova’s Melchionni splits Specialist of the Year honors with Prince after capping the regular season with seven goals, two assists, 19 caused turnovers and 43 ground balls to help lead the Wildcats to a share of the regular season crown. In five league games, he tallied three goals and caused 10 turnovers, while picking up 21 ground balls.

In addition to sharing Specialist of the Year honors, Prince is the fifth Hoya to garner Freshman of the Year. The first-year face off specialist was dominant in the circle with a .652 faceoff percentage (43-66) in four league contests, in addition to averaging 5.50 ground balls per game.

Richard and his staff won Coaching Staff of the Year honors in his first year as head coach of the Golden Eagles. Marquette capped the year with a home win over Denver to secure the fourth seed in the BIG EAST Championship Semifinal. After a 4-10 (0-5) campaign in 2024, the Golden Eagles have improved to 7-6 (2-3) in 2025.

In addition to the regular season major awards, the BIG EAST also released its 2025 First and Second teams.

The All-BIG EAST First Team and Second Team included votes for a goalkeeper, two specialty players and 10 at-large players on each. No ties were broken, which resulted in 15 players on the second team.

Ten players were unanimous selections for the First Team. The teams and awards are voted on by the conference’s six head coaches who are not allowed to cast ballots for their own team.
