Eleven BIG EAST Softball Athletes Selected to NFCA All-Region Teams

NEW YORK – Eleven BIG EAST softball student-athletes were selected to NFCA All-Region teams, as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association on Thursday.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s 10 regions with first, second and third-team selections. NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated student-athletes (eight maximum) and voted for the teams. All awarded student-athletes now become eligible for the 2025 NFCA Division I All-America squads.

The BIG EAST was one of eight conferences to earn double-digit selections.

UConn garnered four All-East Region honorees. BIG EAST Player of the Year Grace Jenkins and outfielder Kaitlyn Breslin were honored on the first team. BIG EAST Tournament Most Outstanding Player, pitcher Payton Kinney, was recognized on the second team. BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, Cat Petteys, earned third team accolades.

St. John’s also boasted four honorees. Pitcher Loreley Francia and shortstop London Jarrard were recognized on the All-Northeast Region Second Team. Pitcher Ana Serafinko and outfielder Jess Bianco were named to the third team.

Creighton outfielder Sydra Seville was recognized on the All-Midwest Region First Team.

Butler outfielder Cate Lehner was named to the All-Great Lakes Region Second Team.

Villanova designated player Maranda Runco earned All-East Region Third Team accolades.
