STORRS, Conn. – Connecticut won both the men's and women's team titles at the 2025 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships presented by JEEP for the fourth straight season, as the three-day event concluded on Saturday.
On the men's side, the Huskies tallied 298 points to clinch their fifth consecutive conference title and ninth overall, while the UConn women totaled 206.5 points to claim their fourth straight team title and sixth all-time. DePaul was the runner-up on both sides, as the men finished with 124 points, while the women recorded 168 points to place second.
DePaul’s Demetrius Rolle was named the men's BIG EAST Most Outstanding Track Performer after setting the BIG EAST record in the men’s 100-meter dash with a time of 10.24. The record was previously held by WVU’s Rob Dennis in 1997 (10.28). Rolle also finished second in the 200-meter dash (21.26).
Husky Joshua Mooney earned men's Most Outstanding Field Performer with a gold medal in the decathlon (7,810 points) with first place finishes in the 100-meter dash (10.73), long jump (6.96m), 110-meter hurdles (14.30), discus (41.73m), pole vault (4.60m), and javelin (71.45m).
Kasey Savage was named the men’s High Point Performer of the Meet, totaling 24 points for the Huskies. Savage earned first place in the long jump (7.67m) and second in the triple jump (15.30).
For the women, Georgetown’s Rebecca Ochan was crowned Most Outstanding Track Performer with a first-place finish in the 200-meter dash (23.66) and the 400-meter dash (52.25).
St. John’s Jamora Alves was awarded women's Most Outstanding Field Performer for her first place medal in the discus (54.30) and second place medal in the shot put with a throw of 15.24m.
DePaul’s Sade Miller was named the women's High Point Performer after earning 20.5 points with first place in the 100-meter dash (11.65). She also finished second in the 200-meter dash with at time of 24.08 and was part of the winning 4x100 relay team.
The Huskies' coaching staff won BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year honors for both the men's and women's teams. The men won eight events while the women won four.
