BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Mateo Stoka, Marquette, Sr., M (Menomonee, Wis.)
In a 1-0-1 week for the Golden Eagles, Stoka led the offensive charge with a pair of goals. The senior midfielder took over the contest in the final five minutes against North Florida, tallying five shots, four shots on goal, and a pair of goals in the come from behind win. Trailing 1-0 in the 85
th minute, Stoka stepped up to the penalty kick line and buried the equalizer in the back of the goal. In the final seconds of regulation, Stoka lined up 20 yards from net for a free kick, sending a blast to the upper right corner of the goal to send the Marquette bench into jubilation of a 2-1 triumph.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Luke Martelli, Villanova, R-So., D (Kinzers, Pa.)
Martelli logged 78 minutes as part of the shutout effort over the weekend against Rider, playing in the outside back wing position. The redshirt sophomore and his teammates limited Rider to just three shots on target in the 5-0 victory. On the offensive side of the pitch, Martelli contributed with a goal in the 41
st minute.
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Jonny Mennell, Xavier, Sr., GK (Asheville, N.C.)
Opening his senior campaign with a shutout, Mennell corralled four saves in a 3-0 victory over Saint Francis. Mennell faced seven shots in the contest, and posted his first shutout of the year in the full 90 minutes of action.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Farrel Ngongang, Akron, Fr., F (Montreal, Quebec)
Ngongang turned in a strong collegiate debut week both a goal and an assist to spark the Zips to wins at VCU and at home against Northern Kentucky. He assisted on Tyler Morck’s 63rd-minute goal at VCU before netting his first career goal in the 66th minute. Ngongang finished the evening with four shots, including one shot on goal before adding one shot on goal in Akron’s 1-0 win over Northern Kentucky.

Stefon Dobrijevic, Akron, Sr., F
Dobrijevic turned in a strong week to help the Zips post a pair of season-opening victories tallying a goal and an assist.
Ashton Kamdem, Akron, Sr., D
Kamdem anchored a Zips’ defense that limited VCU and Northern Kentucky to just two total shots on goal in a pair of shutout victories.
Balthazar Saunders, UConn, Sr., M
Saunders notched an assist in a 1-0 victory over Syracuse on Thursday night, before registering a goal in a 1-1 draw with UMass.
Mikkel Lejbowicz, Seton Hall, So., F
Coming off the bench in the season opening win over Lafayette, Lejbowicz tallied his first goal of the season. Earning the start against Rutgers, he tallied his second goal of the year in a 2-2 draw.
Sam Nyenka, Villanova, Jr., F
Nyenka led the offensive charge in a 5-0 win over Rider, registering a brace in the contest.
