OCALA, Florida – The Villanova women and Georgetown men retained their leads following the second night of the 2026 BIG EAST Swim and Dive Championships.
The Wildcats are undefeated on the week, amassing 621 points, as they seek their 13th consecutive crown. The Hoyas have 317 points as they chase their fifth straight title.
The BIG EAST Conference is hosting the 2026 edition of its annual Swimming and Diving Championships at Florida Aquatics Swimming and Training (FAST) in Ocala, Florida, in partnership with the Ocala/Marion County Visitors and Convention Bureau.
Day three will commence at 10 a.m. on Friday with the prelims of the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, and 100 backstroke. The women’s one-meter diving prelims are slated for 1 p.m. Finals will begin at 5:45 p.m.
Katie White kicked off the night with a win for the Wildcat women in the 500 free (4:50.10). UConn’s Courtney Phillips finished second (4:52.61) while Villanova’s Peri Gaguzis placed third (4:52.68).
Seton Hall’s Jack Callan was victorious in the men’s 500 free, touching the wall in 4:26.25. Xavier’s Connor Lathrop (2nd, 4:26.75) and Georgetown’s Ronan Krauss (3rd, 4:27.31) rounded out the top three.
Villanova swept the women’s 200 IM with Meghan Tiernan finishing first (1:59.54) ahead of teammates Anna Farley (2nd, 2:01.02) and Emily Herr (3rd, 2:01.16).
Seton Hall went 1-2 in the men’s 200 IM behind a victory from defending champion Balint Marosi (1:45.82) and second-place finish from Kevin Cary (1:46.73). Villanova’s Justin Nowicki earned a third-place result (1:46.83).
Villanova’s Carlota Colomer Guasch won the women’s 50 free in 22.63. Xavier’s Olivia Oyster followed close behind, finishing second in 22.76. Georgetown’s Taplin Seelbach took third (23.01).
Georgetown’s Owen Watkins defended his 2025 title, winning the men’s 50 free while automatically qualifying for the 2026 NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships with a time of 19.21. Xavier’s Sean McGinley (20.05) and Seton Hall’s Toma Adam (20.08) finished in second and third, respectively.
Seton Hall’s Nicholas Graham claimed the first men’s diving event of the week, posting a score of 348.45 on the 1-meter board. Villanova’s Nate Warson placed second (325.80) and Georgetown’s Nicolas Santiago finished third (284.55).
Villanova remained undefeated, winning the women’s 200 free relay in 1:31.12. Georgetown followed with a 1:31.56 second-place finish while UConn placed third (1:32.13).
Georgetown claimed the men’s 200 free relay in 1:19.06. Xavier (1:19.18) and Seton Hall (1:19.69) placed third, respectively.
