Creighton Duo Earns BIG EAST Weekly Women's Golf Awards

NEW YORK – Creighton's Morgan Becker and Julia Karmazin shared this week's BIG EAST Women's Golf weekly honors.  The Bluejays' duo turned in the program's third-best 54-hole score at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate in Litchfield Park, Ariz.

Becker opened play at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate with an opening round 69 - the team's third-best round since 2003.  She finished with a 1-over par 214 - good for a tie for 22nd place - posting scores of 73 and 72 in the second and third rounds of play, respectively.  The 214 total score is the third-best 54-hole score in program history.

Julia Karmazin, Creighton, So.
Karmazin tied the Bluejays' record for lowest round, carding five birdies on the front 9 en route to a 4-under 67 during the third round at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate.  She tied for 22nd place, along with her teammate Morgan Becker, finishing with a score of 214 (75-72-67) - which ties her for Creighton's third-best 54-hole total score.

Women’s Notes: Creighton's 874 aggregate score at the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate was a dozen shots better than its previous 54-hole low score...the Bluejays finished 10th (291-296-297) as a team...Georgetown competed at the City of Oaks Collegiate in Raleigh, N.C...the Hoyas placed seventh overall with a team score of 924 (309-299-316)...Georgia Ruffolo led Georgetown, placing 16th overall with a 54-hole score of 230 (78-74-78), while Catherine Qiu was 22nd (77-76-78=231).
