St. John's Earns BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week Honors

NEW YORK – Lily Huynh of St. John's was selected as the BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week.  The  sophomore recorded her first collegiate victory, tying for medalist honors at the St. John's Invitational, held at the St. Andrew's Golf Club in Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.

Huynh earned her first collegiate victory at the St. John's Invitational, tying for first place at the St. Andrew's Golf Club.  The sophomore from Chatsworth, Calif. posted back-to-back rounds of 77, finishing with a total score of 154 for the 36-hole tournament.  She ranked among the tournament leaders in par 3, par 4, and par 5 scoring while posting three birdies and 18 pars.  Her performance helped secure a comeback team victory for the Red Storm.

Women’s Notes: Xavier placed fourth at the ECU Ironwood Invitational, with a total team score of 894 (302-299-293)...It was the 18th top five team finish by the Musketeers since the 2022-23 season...Madison Reemsnyder led Xavier with a fifth place finish, compiling a 54-hole score of 219 (75-73-71) - her 14th career top 10 finish...Two BIG EAST teams competed at the St. John's Invitational - St. John's and Providence...The Red Storm erased a one-shot deficit in the final round, using the best team round of the tournament to secure an eight-stroke victory... seven SJU golfers finished among the top 15 in the win - the 27th under head coach Ambry Bishop-Santillo...Providence finished 11th as a team, led by Gwendolyn Yarnall who tied for fifth place...She compiled a two-round total of 157, en route to her first-ever top five finish...Georgetown placed 16th at the Terps Invitational at the Maryland Golf Course...Georgia Ruffolo was the top finisher for the Hoyas, finishing with a total score of 227, while teammate Mimi Burton was one stroke behind in a tie for 43rd (228).
