Katie Garofolo-Ro, Jr., Georgetown (Houston, Texas)
Garofolo-Ro registered three straight-set victories at No. 3 singles as Georgetown swept Seton Hall and Saint Joseph’s. The junior bested BIG EAST opponents Anastasia Sereda (Seton Hall), 6-3, 6-4, and Nao Kojima (St. John’s), 6-3, 6-4 as well as Saint Joseph’s Elena Fleming (7-5, 6-0).
BIG EAST Women’s Doubles Team of the Week
Abby Nugent (Sr., Springboro, Ohio) & Clara Owen (So., Dayton, Ohio), Xavier
Nugent and Owen owned a 2-0 record at No. 1 doubles as Xavier picked up victories against No. 59 Denver (4-2) and Memphis (4-1) on the road. The duo defeated Denver’s Lambert/Cai, 7-6 (7-3), and Memphis’ Mykhailets/Dvorackova, 6-3.
BIG EAST Men’s Singles Player of the Week
James O’Sullivan, So., Georgetown (Nice, France)
O’Sullivan posted a 2-0 record in singles play to lead Georgetown to a pair of victories over Loyola (4-3) and Saint Joseph’s (7-0). The sophomore defeated Loyola’s Petter Haden in straight sets (6-3, 6-4) to clinch the match in the Hoyas favor on the top court. O’Sullivan then overcame Saint Joseph’s Ernesto Ruy at No. 2 singles (1-6, 7-5, 6-4).

Pablo and O’Sullivan contributed a 6-2 victory over Loyola’s Nick Lawliss and Ryan Gill at No. 1 doubles to help the Hoyas secure the essential doubles point in a 4-3 win over the Greyhounds.
