BIG EAST Women’s Singles Player of the Week
Sasha Stula, Jr., DePaul (Gifu, Japan)
Stula went 2-0 on the No.1 singles court against a pair of BIG EAST opponents. The junior defeated St. John’s Victoria Papadopoulo, 6-3, 7-6 (7-1), and Seton Hall’s Kira Farrakhova, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4. The Blue Demons defeated the Red Storm, 5-2, and the Pirates, 7-0.
BIG EAST Women’s Doubles Team of the Week
Abby Nugent (Sr., Springboro, Ohio) & Clara Owen (So., Dayton, Ohio), Xavier
Nugent and Owen were 2-0 at No. 1 doubles, helping Xavier take the doubles point in a pair of 4-0 wins over BIG EAST rival Creighton as well as Penn. The Musketeer tandem defeated Creighton’s Dixit/Tran, 6-2, and Penn’s Urata/Saw, 6-2.
BIG EAST Men’s Singles Player of the Week
Radomir Tomic, Jr., St. John’s (Zvornik, Bosnia and Herzegovina)
Tomic posted a 2-0 record at No. 1 singles, defeating Creighton’s Yuma Daijima (6-4, 6-3) and Brown’s Ivan Sodan (7-5, 4-6, 7-6). The Red Storm defeated the Bluejays, 5-2, and the Bears, 4-3.
BIG EAST Men’s Doubles Team of the Week
Adam Groves (Sr., Billericay, England) & Semen Agynskyy (Jr., Dnipro, Ukraine), St. John’s
Groves and Agynskyy registered a pair of wins against Creighton and Brown. The duo defeated BIG EAST opponents Rocky McKenzie and Jack McMahon (Creighton), 7-6, on the No. 2 doubles court. The pair then surpassed Brown’s Cole Oberg and Elliot Wasserman, 6-2, to contribute to the crucial doubles point as the Red Storm defeated the Bears, 4-3.
