BIG EAST Women’s Singles Player of the Week
Sasha Stula, Jr., DePaul (Gifu, Japan)
Stula posted a 2-0 record versus BIG EAST opponents while competing at No. 1 singles, claiming both matches in straight sets. She defeated UConn’s Platenikova (6-3., 6-2) on Saturday, followed by Butler’s Metcalf (6-2, 6-2) on Sunday.
BIG EAST Women’s Doubles Team of the Week
Hannah Smith (Sr., Silchester, England) & Clara Nilsson (Fr., Malmo Sweden)
Smith and Nilsson went 3-0 on the No. 1 doubles court, winning matches with a combined scoreline of 18-3. The pair defeated Missouri’s Rosi and Ackman, 6-0. In conference play, the tandem took victories from UConn (Matos & Platenikova, 6-3) and Butler (Metcaf & Arrington, 6-0).

Alejandro Gandini, Gr., DePaul (Santiago, Dominican Republic)
Gandini anchored DePaul at the No. 1 position during the George Lott Classic, posting a perfect 3-0 singles record with three straight-set victories. The graduate student opened the weekend with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Luc Hoeijmans of No. 62 Cal Poly to help the Blue Demons claim a ranked victory to kick off the weekend. Gandini also secured straight-set wins over Army’s Jackson Armistead (6-3, 6-4) and Dartmouth’s Henry Ren (6-2, 6-4).

Danilo Raicevic (Jr., Podgorica, Montenengro) & Radomir Tomic (Jr., Zvornik, Bosnia and Herzegovina)
Raicevic and Tomic owned a 3-0 record at No. 2 doubles, including a pair of victories over BIG EAST competitors. The duo defeated Butler’s Baldi and Singh, 6-3, before overcoming Xavier’s Frizelle and Pettingell, 6-2. The tandem also took down Cleveland State’s Stine and Aremon to secure the doubles point on Friday.
