NEW YORK – Marquette's Vincent Cervantes and Seton Hall's Marta Aguilar were recognized by the BIG EAST as its Male and Female Golfers of the Week.  Cervantes led the Golden Eagles, tying for medalist honors at the University Club of Kentucky this past week.  Aguilar was the Pirates' top finisher, tying for first place at the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway, N.J.

Cervantes captured his second career collegiate victory last week, tying for first place at the Bluegrass Collegiate Invitational in Lexington, Ky.  The sophomore finished with an even-par total score of 213, posting three consecutive rounds of 71 over the 54-hole competition.  Heading into the final two holes, Cervantes trailed by two strokes and rallied to finish atop the leaderboard.  He finished among the leaders in the field in par 3 (3.17 avg, +2) and par 5 (4.67 avg, -3) scoring for the tournament.

Aguilar earned her fourth career win - and second of the 2026 spring campaign - earning a share of the individual title at the Rutgers Invitational.  The sophomore finished with a 6-over par total of 219, opening with an even-par 71, carding a second round 76, before registering two birdies and 14 pars en route to a final round 72.  She finished with 36 pars - second-most among the 88 player field.  Aguilar's four career victories are the most in Seton Hall women's golf history. 

Men’s Notes: Marquette was second as a team at the Bluegrass Collegiate Invitational, finishing four shots back of tournament host Kentucky with a 10-over par 862...in addition to the win by Vincent Cervantes, two other Golden Eagles finished among the top 10, with Mason Schmidtke tying for fifth at 3-over (216) and Mischa Candinas tying for seventh at 4-over (217)...Georgetown and Seton Hall competed at the Princeton Invitational on April 11-12...Georgetown was runner-up in the 13-team field, finishing with a 3-over par total of 855 (280-292-283)...the Hoyas were led by Barnes Blake and Carson Erick, with each golfer tying for fourth place on the leaderboard with a 1-over par total of 214...SHU placed fourth as a team with a total team score of 873 (304-284-285)...David Lally led the Pirates, tying for 10th place overall with a 2-over par score of 215 (76-70-69)...it was Lally's sixth career top 10 finish...Xavier's AJ Adams was the top finisher among four individuals at the Wright State Invitational on April 12-13, tying for ninth place with an even-par 213 (72-68-73)...both the Musketeers and Villanova competed at the Mountaineer Invitational at the Pete Dye Golf Club on April 14-15...the Musketeers finished eighth as a team (882), led by Cayse Morgan's 26th place finish with a 3-over 219...Villanova was 11th on the team leaderboard (889), led by Ryan Pamer who tied for fifth place overall with a 5-under 211...Pamer registered an eagle and 16 birdies over the 54 holes of competition...Butler placed 14th at the Robert Kepler Invitational from April 11-12, hosted by Ohio State...the Bulldogs' Leo Zurovac tied for 19th place, finishing with a 3-under par total score of 213...Providence's Campbell Skelly tied for 29th place at the Wofford Invitational from April 12-14, pacing the Friars to a 13th place finish...Skelly finished with a 3-over 216, posting 13 birdies over the 54 holes of play.

Women's Notes: Georgetown, Seton Hall, and St. John's competed at the Rutgers Invitational...the Hoyas placed fourth as a team at the tournament, with a total team score of 923...Catherine Qiu (8th, 228) and Georgia Ruffalo (10th, 229) led Georgetown, each posting top 10 finishes...the Pirates finished one spot behind, taking fifth place with a score of 931...St. John's was ninth as a team (953), led by Lily Huynh's 21st place finish (235)...Laura Mizlerova competed as an individual for SJU, also tying for 21st place...Creighton placed fifth at the Stampede at the Creek on April 13-14, held at the Club at Indian Creek outside Omaha...Morgan Becker and Julia Karmazin each tied for 12th place with a 54-hole total of 230, leading four Bluejays in the top 20 on the leaderboard...Butler finished 15th at the Boilermaker Spring Classic (936), hosted by Purdue on April 12-13...Treva Dodd led the Bulldogs, finishing 22nd overall with a total score of 220...Providence's Gwendolyn Yarnall tied for third place, with a 1-over 71 at the Stonehill Senior Showdown on April 15, marking her third top 10 and fifth top 20 finish of the season...the Friars finished third as a team in the single-round event...Xavier's Stephanie Woo competed at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational as an individual on April 11-12, tying for second with a score of 152 for the 36-hole tournament.
