DePaul, St. John’s to Meet in 2026 BIG EAST Men’s Tennis Championship

CAYCE, S.C. – Top-seeded St. John’s and No. 2 DePaul swept their semifinal matches to advance to the 2026 BIG EAST Men’s Tennis Championship, scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET at the Cayce Tennis and Fitness Center. The women’s Championship match will follow at 1 p.m. ET.

The Championship will be streamed on ESPN+ with live scoring available on iOnCourt.

The Red Storm seek their seventh tournament crown while the Blue Demons are in pursuit of their fourth. St. Johns and DePaul have met in the title match in four of the last six seasons.

# 1 St. John's, 4, #4 Georgetown, 0
St. John’s defeated Georgetown, 4-0, to advance to the Championship match for the seventh consecutive season. The Red Storm registered the tandem point behind victories on the first and third courts. At No. 1, Danilo Raicevic and Radomir Tomic defeated Cyrus Zia and Arthur O’Sullivan, 6-1. At No. 3, Semen Agynskyy and Adam Groves bested Henry Williams and Burke Pablo, 6-3.

David Petrovic logged the first singles win from the second court, defeating James O’Sullivan, 6-4, 6-3. Groves followed at No. 6 singles with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Zia. Agynskyy returned the Red Storm to the Championship with win at No. 3 singles (def. Lamm-Bocharov, 6-4, 6-3).

#2 DePaul, 4, #3 Xavier, 0
DePaul surpassed Xavier, 4-0, to return to the title match. The tandem teams on the second and third courts secured the doubles point. Alejandro Gandini and Tobias Leitner defeated Andrew Spurck and Samuel Frizelle, 6-3, at No. 2 while teammates Thomas Giles and Sven Moser bested Bode Campbell and Lukas Grossman, 6-1, at No. 3.

Moser extended the Blue Demons lead behind a 6-1, 6-3 win over Campbell at No. 5 singles. Sebastian Medica added another victory at No. 2 singles, defeating Max Pettingell, 6-1, 6-3. Gandini clinched the match on the top court, overcoming Alexander Kotarski, 6-2, 6-4.
