PROVIDENCE – The 2026 BIG EAST Men’s Lacrosse Championship Presented by JEEP opens Thursday night at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium with a pair of semifinal games. At 4:30 p.m. ET, No. 1 seed Georgetown faces No. 4 seed Denver. At 7:30 p.m., No. 2 seed Providence takes on No. 3 seed Villanova. Both games will air live on ESPN+. The winners of Thursday night’s games will return to Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the title game. The game will air live on ESPNU. The BIG EAST Champion will earn an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament. The 2026 NCAA Tournament bracket will be revealed Sunday, May 3 at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

Georgetown and Denver open the BIG EAST Championship Thursday night at 4:30 p.m. Georgetown enters the field as the top-seed, after winning the BIG EAST Regular Season title. With an 8-4 overall mark and 5-0 record in BIG EAST play, the Hoyas rank 12th nationally. The Pioneers enter the field as the No. 4 seed with a 6-7 overall record and 2-3 mark in league play. The Hoyas and Pios met early in the season, with Georgetown securing a 17-5 win in Denver, breaking a two-game skid in the series history. Overall, the Pioneers lead the series with a 10-8 mark, but Georgetown has won seven of the last 10 encounters. Denver is back in the field after missing out a season ago.

Providence and Villanova close out semifinal action Thursday night. The Friars enter postseason play with a 7-8, 3-2 BIG EAST record, earning the highest seed in program history. The Wildcats enter the tournament with a 6-7, 3-2 BIG EAST mark. In their last time facing off, Providence earned an overtime win over Villanova, 10-9. The Friars rallied from a four-goal deficit with just over 11 minutes remaining in regulation, before Rhett Chambers scored the game-winning goal in extra time. Thursday night’s game will mark the 21
st meeting between Providence and Villanova, with the Wildcats leading the series, 13-7.
