EUGENE, Ore. – A pair of finals wrapped up for BIG EAST male athletes on Friday at the 2026 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field, hosted by the University of Oregon.
 
Villanova’s Marco Langon left it all out on the track in the men’s 5,000-meter event, while Georgetown’s Jaden Marchan put up a sub-45-second 400-meter result. Also on Friday, UConn’s Maresa Hense wrapped up the first four events in the heptathlon.
 
In the 400-meter final, Marchan flashed around the track in a time of 44.87 to finish seventh and earn First Team All-America accolades.
 
Later in the night, Langon put on a show in the 5,000-meter thriller, sprinting into the lead with 500 meters to go, before wrapping up the event with a fourth-place finish and First Team All-America honors.
 
Through four events in the women’s heptathlon, Hense sits in 11^th place with 3,488 points, just 257 points behind the leader. She shined in the 200-meter track event with a seventh-place finish in 24.14 seconds, while finishing among the top 15 in each of the other three events: 100-meter hurdles (14^th), high jump (12^th) and shot put (14^th).
 
The championships will come to a close on Saturday with four BIG EAST female athletes in action. St. John’s Jamora Alves will compete in the discus final at 2:30 p.m. ET, while Hense competes in the long jump at 5:30 p.m. ET, followed by the javelin (6:45 p.m. ET) and 800-meter (9:43 p.m. ET) to wrap up the heptathlon.
 
At 8:24 p.m. ET, Georgetown’s Barrett Justema will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase final.
