Tuscaloosa, Ala. – In game two of the NCAA Super Regional, St. John’s fell, 7-2, against No. 7 seed and host Alabama.

Alabama opened the scoring in the bottom of the third with an RBI single and a groundout to send a runner home, taking a 2-0 lead.

The Red Storm cut the deficit in half after freshman outfielder Dylan Fitzsimmons collected a ground-rule double over the center-field wall to advance graduate shortstop Rob Mansour to third. Moments later, senior outfielder Jon LeGrande grounded out to second base, allowing Mansour to cross the plate.

The Crimson Tide extended its lead to 3-1 with a sacrifice bunt to send a runner home.

In the bottom of the sixth, redshirt sophomore catcher Adam Agresti registered the first home run of the series for either team, blasting a shot over the left-center-field wall to cut the deficit to 3-2.

Alabama put the game out of reach in the seventh inning, when Jason Torres hit a grand slam to push the lead to 7-2.

After inclement weather rolled through the area, halting play at 6:35 p.m. ET/5:35 p.m. CT on Sunday, play was postponed to Monday at noon ET/11 a.m. CT, resuming in the top of the eighth inning.
