NEW YORK – The BIG EAST Conference has introduced Scenario Central, a new series of interactive tools designed to give fans a clearer look at the race for BIG EAST Championship qualification and seeding.
Scenario Central debuts this fall with field hockey, men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball, all live now on BIGEAST.com. Fans can follow Conference standings, play out remaining regular-season contests and see how potential results affect the championship picture.
The field hockey edition is the most in-depth version of Scenario Central, pairing its main page with a second page, Scenario Explorer. With the regular season down to its final day, fans can select winners of the remaining Conference games, view projected standings and championship seeds, follow individual team paths and explore every combination that could determine the BIG EAST Championship field. A “This weekend” panel spells out what each team needs, including the goal-differential margins that could decide the final spots.
The men’s soccer, women’s soccer and volleyball editions launch alongside field hockey. Because those races still include millions of possible outcomes, and billions in volleyball, these pages let fans build their own scenario, either one game at a time or by filling remaining games with home teams, road teams or random results. Once every remaining game is picked, the page applies that sport’s BIG EAST Championship seeding procedures to show a projected championship field. Volleyball fans can also enter hypothetical set-by-set scores, which count toward the set and rally-point tiebreakers.
Every edition includes standings that update with each pick and a “Follow my team” view of each school’s remaining schedule and completed results. Teams are marked as clinched or eliminated only when that outcome is mathematically certain, including division and regular-season titles, shared titles and locked-in seeds. Fans can save, share or print their scenarios, including by link, and pages are updated as official results are added throughout the regular season.
Scenario Central is an unofficial fan resource. Projected standings and seeds are for illustration only and are not official BIG EAST tiebreaker determinations. The BIG EAST Conference office will determine and announce all official standings, tiebreakers, Championship qualifiers and seeds. Tiebreaker steps that depend on information not available in advance, such as an NCAA RPI ranking or a coin toss, are not projected and will be handled by the Conference office.
The platform will continue beyond the fall, with Scenario Central planned for men’s and women’s basketball during the 2026-27 season. The initiative will also expand to spring championship races in baseball, softball, men’s lacrosse and women’s lacrosse.
Scenario Central is designed to go beyond the traditional standings page, giving fans a clearer and more interactive look at where their team stands and what needs to happen next.
Additional Scenario Central features will be introduced throughout the 2026-27 athletic season on BIGEAST.com.
