NEW YORK  –  The BIG EAST saw 17 players from six different schools named to the United Soccer Coaches All-EAST Region Teams. Georgetown led the way with five members on the list, followed by Providence with four, St. John's with three, Butler and Creighton with two apiece and Villanova with one.
 
BIG EAST student-athletes accounted for eight of the 11 First-Team slots, highlighted by BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year, Luka Gavran of St. John's, Defender of the Year Sean Zawadzki of Georgetown, Midfielder of the Year Dante Polvara of Georgetown and Offensive Player of the Year Diego Gutierrez of Creighton.
 
Also representing the conference on the First Team were Providence defender Ramzi Qawasmy, Georgetown defender Will Sands and Butler forward Wilmer Cabrera.
 
A quartet of BIG EAST student-athletes earned Second Team honors, including Lucas Bartlett of St. John's, Daniel Wu of Georgetown, along with Paulo Lima and Gevork Diarbian of Providence.
 
Rounding out the All-Region Third Team were Giannis Nikopolidis of Georgetown, Rhys Myers of Butler, Brandon Knapp of St. John's, Callum Watson of Creighton and Lyam MacKinnon of Villanova.
