BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Jessica Garziano, St. John’s, Sr., M
Garziano scored one goal and notched on assist in a 1-0-1 week for St. John’s. The senior midfielder netted her goal in the 27
th minute of St. John’s 3-1 win at Butler. Her assist came later in the same match when she created an opportunity for Nicole Gordon in the 57
th minute. She also had one shot on goal in a 0-0 draw against No. 22 Xavier. Garziano finished tied for second in points (3) last week and is currently tied for fifth (11) on the season.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Eliza Turner, Georgetown, So., M
In a 2-0-0 week for Georgetown, Turner played a significant role on both sides of the ball. The sophomore midfielder helped the No. 17 Hoyas to their 11
th straight shutout. She helped Georgetown limit its two opponents to 15 totals shots and eight on goal. Georgetown also held its opponents to three total corner kicks in 180 minutes. Offensively, Turner scored the game-winning goal for the Hoyas in their 1-0 win on the road at Providence. She also had three shots in a 1-0 win at Villanova.
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Emma Martin, Butler, So., GK
Earning her first start of the season, Martin made seven saves in a 2-0 shutout on the road against Connecticut. The sophomore goalkeeper faced seven shots on goal throughout the match and finished with a 1.000 save percentage. Martin led the league in save percentage, goals against average and shutouts last week.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Talia Sommer, Butler, Fr., M
Sommer had two assists in two matches last week for Butler. Her first one was a pass to Arianna Jalics in the 22
nd minute against St. John’s. In Butler’s 2-0 win at UConn, the freshman midfielder gave Abigail Isger an opportunity to score in the 12
th minute to give Butler a lead they would keep for the rest of the match. Sommer was tied for first in the league last week in assists.

Elsi Twombley, Marquette, So., M/F – netted the game-winning goal for Marquette in a 1-0 win against Villanova; she also had five shots in the win
Gina Muzi, St. John’s, Sr., GK – had four total saves in a 1-0-1 week for St. John’s, including a shutout against No. 22 Xavier
Maddie Reed, Xavier, Jr., D – helped the Xavier defense limit St. John’s to five total shots and three on goal in a 0-0 draw
