BIG EAST Men’s Singles Player of the Week
Matthew Lanahan, Jr., Creighton (Chula Vista, Calif.)
Lanahan earned two straight set victories as Creighton defeated Northern Illinois, 4-3, and reigning BIG EAST Champion DePaul, 4-3, over the weekend. Competing in the top spot, Lanahan edged Northern Illinois’ Chen En Tsai 6-4, 6-2. On Sunday, the Bluejay junior conquered DePaul’s Leon Huck 6-3, 6-3 as Creighton opened BIG EAST play.
BIG EAST Men’s Doubles Team of the Week
Giuseppe De Camelis (Sr., Trani, Italy) & Anton Stendal (Fr., Vasteras, Sweden), St. John’s
De Camelis and Stendal grabbed victories from the third doubles spot as St. John’s defeated Army (4-3) and Marist (4-0) on Sunday. The duo logged St. John’s lone doubles victory versus Army, defeating Vishnu Bodavula and Samuel Eden, 6-4. The pair went on to overcome Marist’s Moritz Daxboeck and Christian Mills, 6-3.
BIG EAST Women’s Singles Player of the Week
Lalita Devarakonda, Gr., St. John’s (Hyderabad, India)
Playing from the top spot, Devarakonda defeated St. Francis Brooklyn’s Milana Lysova, 7-6, 7-4. Devarakonda has powered the Red Storm this season, winning her last four finished matches in straight sets at the No. 1 position.

Bouzgarrou and Devarakonda helped clinch the doubles point as St. John’s defeated St. Francis Brooklyn, 7-0, on Wednesday. The top doubles pair earned a decisive victory, defeating the Terrier team of Milana Lysova and Margherita Fiorio 6-2.
