BIG EAST Attack Player of the Week
Tucker Dordevic, Georgetown, Gr., A (Portland, Ore.)
Scored three goals in a 13-10 win over then-No. 6/5 Princeton on the road for Georgetown’s first win of the season. Dordevic’s third goal of the game proved to be the game-winner. He added two ground balls in the top-10 win. Overall, Dordevic has scored at least three goals in three of GU’s four games in 2023.
BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week
Alec Stathakis, Denver, Sr., FO (Northville, Mich.)
Stathakis capped Saturday’s contest 14-of-20 from the faceoff stripe, picking up eight ground balls in Denver’s win over then-No. 12/11 North Carolina on Saturday. After UNC took its first lead late in the fourth quarter, Stathakis won back-to-back faceoffs that led to a pair of Denver goals to secure the win for the Pioneers.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Reid Colwell, Villanova, Jr., D (Westfield, N.J.)
Established career highs with seven ground balls and four caused turnovers in a 15-8 win at Hofstra on Saturday. Colwell’s four caused turnovers are tied for the most by a BIG EAST player this season and tied for the ninth-most in a game by any Division I player in 2023. His first two caused turnovers in the first half led directly to Villanova goals on the ensuing Wildcats possession, both of which tied the score at 3-3 and 4-4 in a game that was back-and-forth early on.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Richie Joseph, Providence, Fr. (Longmeadow, Mass.)
Joseph registered his first collegiate hat-trick to lead Providence past Fairfield, 17-10, capping the outing with three goals.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Brian Minicus, Georgetown, Gr., M
Started at midfield for the first time this season and played out of the box, quarterbacking Georgetown’s offense with three goals and two assists in a 13-10 win at Princeton.
Michael Scharfenberger, Georgetown, So., G
Earned his first start of the season between the pipes, and led the Hoyas to a top-10 road with a career high 15 saves and a .600 save percentage. The sophomore added three ground balls.
Michael Allieri, Marquette, Jr., G
Allieri made a season-high 17 saves and allowed just four goals in 57:46 of Marquette’s win at Detroit Mercy on Thursday afternoon.
Austin Fraser, Villanova, Gr., M
Recorded a career-high six assists in a 15-8 win over Hofstra on Saturday. a stretch of 12:26 in the middle of the game he assisted on five consecutive goals which helped the Wildcats turn a 4-4 tie midway through the second period into a commanding 9-4 advantage early in the third period.
