Four Teams Split BIG EAST Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards (10.28.24)

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Talia Sommer, Butler, Jr., M

Sommer assisted on all three goals in Butler's 3-0 win over St. John's and then assisted on the first goal in the 2-2 tie at Creighton.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Laci Lewis, UConn, Sr., D

Lewis helped the Huskies post shutout against Seton Hall as they held the Pirates to four shots on goal. The team’s shutout is the eighth of the season for the Huskies defense. The senior scored her first career goal in the 1-0 victory.

BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Elena Milam, DePaul, Gr., GK

Milam secured her sixth shutout of the season against St. John's, to help keep DePaul in contention for a postseason berth. Ranked second in the BIG EAST for saves, she added nine more to her total last week, bringing DePaul back to a .500 record in conference play.

BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Anna Bragg, Creighton, Fr., F

Bragg guided the Bluejays to a 1-0-1 record this past week, with two points on a pair assists, including a helper on the game-winning goal in the 2-1 win at Seton Hall. With assists in each of the Bluejays two contests this past week, Bragg becomes the second Bluejay freshman in the past two years to score at least one point in three consecutive matches.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Lea Eisenring, DePaul, So., M

Eisenring scored her third goal in the last four matches, netting DePaul's game-winner against St. John's in the 38th minute on Sunday.

Lawson Renie, Georgetown, Gr., D
Renie played all 90 minutes en route to GU's 12th shutout of the season in the 3-0 win over Villanova. She was part of a defense that held Villanova to just three shots, with two on goal.

Alex Fava, Villanova, Gr., D
Fava posted a three-point week with a goal and an assist as Villanova went 0-1-1 against Providence and Georgetown.

Regan Dancer, Xavier, Jr., F
Dancer scored her sixth goal of the season, in the 56th minute of Xavier’s 2-1 win at Marquette, helping Xavier secure a top-two seed in the league tournament.
