BIG EAST Player and Freshman of the Week
Carsen Brandt, Marquette, Fr., A (Edina Minn.)
After contributing a pair of goals in his collegiate debut, Carsen Brandt led the Marquette offense once again to earn his second consecutive BIG EAST Freshman of the Week accolade, as well as the first Player of the Week honor of his career. The freshman attacker registered a hat-trick and dished out a trio of assists to tie for the BIG EAST lead with six points on the week. Brandt led the Golden Eagles to a 16-5 win over Lindenwood on Friday to improve to 2-0 on the year.
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Malcolm Kleban, Denver, Sr., G (New York, N.Y.)
Kleban set a career-high in net, leading the Pioneers to an 11-9 win over Air Force on Saturday to remain perfect on the season. The senior netminder registered 14 saves, the fourth time in his collegiate career he reached double-digit saves. It was the most saves by a Denver goalie since April 9, 2022. Overall, he also collected two ground balls in the victory.
BIG EAST Specialist of the Week
Alec Stathakis, Denver, Gr., FOS (Northville, Mich.)
Establishing the advantage from the jump for the Pioneers in Saturday’s 11-9 win over Air Force, Stathakis went 17-for-24 (0.708) on faceoffs. Overall, the junior collected eight ground balls.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Mic Kelly, Denver, Jr., M
Set a career high with five points, registering just his second career hat trick. Overall, he tallied three goals and two assists in Saturday’s win.
Graham Bundy, Jr., Georgetown, Gr., A
Tallied three goals and collected eight ground balls in a 11-9 setback against No. 13 John Hopkins.
Mason Woodward, Marquette, Gr., D
Anchoring the Golden Eagles’ defense, Woodward caused a turnover and collected four ground balls, while also limiting Lindenwood to just five goals. Woodward also set the Marquette career ground ball record.
Luke Williams, Marquette, Gr., FOS
Williams won 7-of-10 faceoffs and picked up six ground balls in Marquette’s victory on Saturday.
Richie Joseph, Providence, So., A
Joseph led the Friars with six points on Saturday, capping the afternoon with four goals and two assists.
