BIG EAST Women’s Singles Player of the Week
Sofia Mazzucato, Fr., Xavier (Houston, Texas)
Mazzucato earned two victories this weekend, moving her rookie season total to a team-best 14 singles wins highlighted by 13 consecutive victories. Against No. 57 VCU, Mazzucato defeated Emma Rizzetto in the No. 5 spot, 6-3, 6-1. She followed this with another straight-set victory on Sunday, surpassing East Tennessee State’s Jana Rovira (6-2, 6-4) at No. 4 singles.
 
BIG EAST Women’s Doubles Team of the Week
Malvika Shukla (Sr., Mumbai, India) and Valerie Negin (Jr., Centennial Co.), Creighton
Shukla and Negin secured their eighth and ninth consecutive doubles victory behind a pair of wins this weekend.  On Friday, the duo defeated Oral Robert’s Chara Grammatikaki and Arina Sorkina, 4-0, at No. 1 doubles. The same evening, the pair overcame Kansas City’s Amal Gati and Laura Monoz-Baroja, 6-3, to clinch the doubles point.
 
BIG EAST Men’s Singles Player of the Week
Ignacio Vinas, Jr., St. John’s (Buenos Aires, Argentina)
Vinas won a pair of matches during the Red Storm’s two team victories this week. With the match score tied at three versus No. 75 Monmouth, Vinas secured a come-from-behind victory over Gabriel Burner (1-6, 6-3, 7-5) to clinch the match on the third court. Against Villanova on Saturday, Vinas defeated Thomas Wakefield in straight sets (6-1, 6-3) as the Red Storm swept the Wildcats.
 
BIG EAST Men’s Doubles Team of the Week
Ryota Kaneda (Jr., Fukuoka, Japan) & Adam Groves (So., Billericay, England), St. John’s
Kaneda and Groves secured two victories this week, helping the Johnnies claim the team doubles point in their wins over No. 75 Monmouth and BIG EAST rival Villanova. Against Monmouth on Wednesday, Groves and Kaneda earned an essential win over Gabriel Busato and Christof Zeiler, 6-1. The pair repeated this result against Wildcats Josh Vestal and Lukas Choi (6-1),
