BIG EAST WBB Minute: Seton Hall Defeats Washington State; Four Games Wednesday Night

Zahara Bishop led the Pirates with 19 points on 6-for-11 shooting from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from the foul line, to go with 10 rebounds for her first career double-double. Savannah Catalon scored 15 points, while Jada Eads added 13 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Seton Hall’s 30 first-quarter points mark a single-quarter high this season.

Marquette-UConn to Meet Wednesday
Marquette is on the road to face its second nationally ranked opponent of the year in #1 UConn on Wednesday. The game is set for 7 p.m. on Peacock/NBS Sports with Brendan Glasheen and Meg Culmo on the call. The Eagles rank fifth in the nation in three-point percentage (.399). Skylar Forbes is leading the Golden Eagles with 15.8 points, good for fifth in the BIG EAST. Azzi Fudd leads the Huskies with 18.1 points through 10 games on a .500/.531/1.000 shooting clip. Sarah Strong is averaging 17.5 points, 8.7 boards, 4.9 assists, 3.4 steals, and 2.0 blocks this season. The Huskies lead the nation with 24.2 assists per game.


UConn Sweeps Weekly Awards (12.15)
UConn graduate student guard Azzi Fudd scored 17 points in the 79-51 win at #16 USC, shooting 6-for-11 (3-for-6 from three) to be named the BIG EAST Player of the Week. Teammate Blanca Quiñonez had 12 points, four rebounds and a career-high four steals off the bench to earn freshman of the week. This is the third week the Huskies have swept honors this year.


BIG EAST to Provide Public Availability Reports for Men's and Women's Basketball
Beginning in 2025-26, the BIG EAST Conference will provide public reports on the availability of student-athletes in conference games in the sports of men's and women's basketball. BIG EAST schools will be required to submit availability reports three hours before the scheduled tipoff time.  Under the reporting structure, players will be designated as "questionable" or "out."  Availability reports will be posted on the BIG EAST website throughout the 2025-26 season. Women's Basketball Availability Reports
