BIG EAST Women’s Singles Player of the Week
Bianca Rademacher, Sr., Creighton (Lincoln, Nebraska)
Rademacher posted a perfect 2-0 record at the No. 1 singles position this week to improve to 5-0 on the spring season. The senior defeated Drake’s Elizabeth Klavinska (6-1, 6-0) as the Bluejays picked up a 6-1 team victory on Saturday. Rademacher earned her second straight set win of the weekend with a 6-3, 6-3 defeat of Idaho’s Annabel Davis on Sunday.
BIG EAST Women’s Doubles Team of the Week
Eva Goncharov (Sr., Toronto, Ontario) & Hannah Smith (Jr., Silchester, England), DePaul
DePaul’s No. 1 doubles duo captured a pair of victories this weekend. Goncharov and Smith defeated Drake’s Tess Caldicott and Elizabete Klavinska, 7-5, after opening the match down 0-2. The tandem then defeated Iowa’s Tereza Dejnozkova and Barbora Pokorna, 6-4, to help the Blue Demons capture the doubles point in Iowa City.
BIG EAST Men’s Singles Player of the Week
Yuma Daijima, Jr., Creighton (Tokyo, Japan)
Daijima posted a 1-0 record at No. 2 singles, helping guide the Bluejays to their first victory over Drake since at least 2007 with a win over Bulldog Ben Johnson [7-6 (8-6), 6-2]. With the win, Daijima improved to an unblemished 7-0 on the year.
BIG EAST Men’s Doubles Team of the Week
Akira Morgenstern (Sr., Rockville, Maryland) & Adhvyte Sharma (Sr., Murphy, Texas) Georgetown
Playing at No. 2 doubles, Morgenstern and Sharma registered a pair of BIG EAST victories over St. John’s and Marquette. The pair defeated Red Storm rivals Ignacio Vinas and Leonardo Mileikowsky, 6-3, as well as Golden Eagles Kristan Blagoev and Ivan Vazquez, 6-4.
