Day Three Prelims Heat Sheet
GENEVA, Ohio – After an evening highlighted by repeat champions, the Wildcat women and Musketeer men hold the lead of the 2025 BIG EAST Swim and Dive Championships Presented by JEEP.
Villanova moved to the top of the women’s leaderboard with 563 points followed closely by UConn with 556. Xavier rounded out the top three (368).
Georgetown held onto its lead from night one, totaling 297 points at the close of day two. Seton Hall sits in second (270), chased by Xavier in third (210).
Seton Hall’s Allie Waggoner opened the night by defending her 500-freestyle title, winning the event for the second consecutive year (4:45.45). UConn’s Norah Rome (4:49.96) placed second and Villanova’s Peri Gaguzis finished third (4:50.50).
In the men’s 500 free Georgetown’s Jack Januario also went back-to-back, claiming the top podium spot with a time of 4:23.20. He was followed by Seton Hall teammates Sean Vizzard and Clil Halevi who finished second (4:24.08) and third (4:24.09), respectively, in a tight race to the finish.
Georgetown’s Angelica Reali claimed the 200 IM, touching the wall in 1:59.83, ahead of Villanova’s Anna Farley (2
nd, 2:00.36) and Meghan Ternan (3
rd, 2:01.00).
After helping the Pirates to the 800 free relay title on night one, Seton Hall’s Balint Marosi won his first individual collegiate crown in the men’s 200 IM (1:46.47). Xavier’s Aiden Leamer finished second (1:47.02) while Georgetown’s Nick Pezzella took third (1:47.34).
For the second year in a row, Xavier’s Olivia Oyster won the 50 free with an NCAA B-cut time of 22.57. Jessica Sheng (UConn) snagged second (22.67); Carlota Colomer Guasch (Villanova) ended in third (22.87).
Georgetown rookie Owen Watkins made a splash in his first individual final, winning the men’s 50 free in 19.71. Seton Hall’s Toma Adam (19.98) placed second ahead of fellow Pirate Evan Wilson (3
rd, 20.29).
UConn dominated the women’s 1-meter dive with junior Olivia Denery winning the event behind a 290.45-point performance. Fellow Huskies Kate Cooper and Darah Ostrom ranked second (285.45) and third (280.05), respectively.
Villanova wrapped the women’s competition with a first-place finish in the 200 free relay. Carlota Colomer Guasch, Riley Kudlac, Lainey Quinones, and Lexi Elkovitch took the event in 1:31.39. Xavier placed second (1:31.74) ahead of UConn in third (1:31.77).
Xavier concluded the evening with a win in the men’s 200 free relay. Aiden Leamer, Kyle Hudson, Ethan Saunders, and Gage Hannewyk took the top spot in 1:20.54, ahead of Seton Hall (2
nd, 120.83) and Villanova (3
rd, 120.89).
Day three will commence at 10 a.m. on Wednesday with the prelims of the 100 butterfly, 400 IM, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, and 100 backstroke. The men’s one-meter diving prelims are slated for 1 p.m. Finals will begin at 5:45 p.m.
