GENEVA, Ohio – The Villanova women and Georgetown men held on to their leads at the conclusion of the third night of the 2025 #BEswimdive Championships Presented by JEEP.
The Wildcat women sit in first with 1031 points followed by UConn (972) and Xavier (749).
The Hoyas lead the pack with 594 points, pursued by Seton Hall (527) and Xavier (465).
Villanova’s Arabella Lee kicked off the night by defending her 100-butterfly crown, repeating atop the event with a NCAA B-cut time of 53.13. She was followed by Georgetown’s Genevieve Youngman in second (53.49) and Xavier’s Erin Ritz in third (53.49).
Seton Hall’s Michael Klimaszewski won his third consecutive 100-fly behind a BIG EAST record-setting and NCAA B-cut performance. The junior’s time of 46.15 surpassed the previous league-best time of 46.44, a mark which had stood since 2010 (Josh Schneider, Cincinnati).
Rounding out the top three finishers in the men’s 100 butterfly were Xavier’s Aiden Leamer (NCAA-B, 46.52) and Matt Fralic (48.50).
The reigning BIG EAST Championship Most Outstanding Swimmer, Allie Waggoner (Seton Hall), added another event win to her repertoire, taking the women’s 400 IM with an NCAA B-cut of 4:14.04. Villanova’s Peri Gaguzis finished second with an NCAA B-cut of her own (4:16.28), followed by teammate Meghan Tiernan (3
rd, 4:18.79).
Villanova’s Justin Nowicki led the men’s 400 IM in 3:49.61, ahead of Georgetown’s Jack Januario (2
nd, 3:51.13) and Xavier’s Nathan Wall (3
rd, 3:53.98).
Alexis Worrall (Xavier) won the women’s 200-free in 1:47.14, outpacing Seton Hall’s Natalie Heim (1:48.71) and Xavier’s Olivia Oyster (1:49.21).
Seton Hall’s Kevin Cary swam away with the men’s 200-free, touching the wall in 1:36.04. Xavier’s Kyle Hudson and Luke Peterson took second (1:36.65) and third (1:37.43), respectively.
Xavier’s Jordyn Libler claimed her second consecutive 100-breast title with an NCAA B-cut time of 1:00.47. UConn’s Sydney Perkins placed second (NCAA B-Cut, 1:00.97) while fellow Husky Kiera Liesinger finished third (1:02.57).
Georgetown’s Bailey De Luise was victorious in the men’s 100 breaststroke, clocking in at 53.49. Ethan Saunders (Xavier, 53.66) placed second before third-place finisher Nick Pezzella (Georgetown, 53.91).
Winning the women’s 100-back, and defending her 2024 title with an NCAA B-cut result, was UConn’s Maggie Donlevy (53.45). Teammate Jessica Sheng followed in second (54.09), besting Villanova’s Arabella Lee (3
rd, 54.20).
Villanova freshman Cole Gorsuch earned his first collegiate crown with a 48.25 finish in the men’s 100 backstroke. He was pursued by Balint Marosi of Seton Hall (2
nd, 48.41) and Matt Fralic from Xavier (3
rd, 48.55).
Nicolas Santiago (Georgetown) won the week’s final men’s diving event, the 1-meter dive, with a score of 332.95. Seton Hall’s Nicholas Graham took second with 329.85 points ahead of teammate Trevor Post (3
rd, 326.80).
Xavier concluded the women’s events with a first-place finish in the 400-medley relay. The squad comprised of Reese Turner, Jordyn Libler, Erin Ritz, and Alexis Worrall (3:38.46) outlasted UConn in second (3:38.82) and Villanova in third (3:41.23).
The Musketeer men replicated the women’s success with Matt Fralic, Ethan Saunders, Aiden Leamer, and Kyle Hudson winning the men’s 400-medley relay in 3:11.15. Seton Hall swam for second (3:13.60) while Georgetown grabbed third (3:16.82).
The fourth and final day will begin with the prelims of the 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, and 200 butterfly. The women’s 3-meter dive prelims are scheduled for 1 p.m. Finals are slated for a 5:45 p.m. start with early heats of the 1,650 freestyle to be contested prior to the start of the session.
