#BIGEASTwbb Weekly Honors (2.3.25): Mogensen, Eads Split Women’s Basketball Awards

NEW YORK – Creighton senior guard Molly Mogensen averaged 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists in a 2-0 week to be named the BIG EAST Player of the Week, announced on Monday. Seton Hall freshman guard Jada Eads earned freshman of the week for the fourth time this season.

UConn graduate student guard Azzi Fudd, Marquette sophomore guard Halle Vice, St. John’s junior guard Jailah Donald, Seton Hall graduate student guard Faith Masonius, and Villanova graduate student guard Bronagh Power-Cassidy were named to this week’s honor roll.

BIG EAST Player of the Week
Molly Mogensen, Creighton, Sr., G

Mogensen capped a 2-0 week averaging 19.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game. The senior shot 72.7 percent (16-for-22) from the field and 71.4 percent from range. Mogensen recorded 22 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in the 84-70 win at Georgetown, and 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists in the 79-66 victory over Providence.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Jada Eads, Seton Hall, Fr., G
Eads averaged 16.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals per game in a pair of Seton Hall victories. In the 71-48 win versus Butler, Eads finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five steals. In Saturday’s 72-55 victory at DePaul, she poured in 18 points, six rebounds and two more steals.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Azzi Fudd, UConn, Gr., G
Fudd led the Huskies to a 2-0 week against DePaul and Butler with 15.0 points per game while shooting 55.0 percent from the field and 63.6 percent from beyond the arc.
 
Halle Vice, Marquette, So., G
Vice averaged 16.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.0 assists, including a game-high 20 points and eight rebounds at Villanova. The sophomore shot 66.7 percent (14-for-21) from the floor for the week, including a 9-for-10 clip versus the Wildcats.


Jailah Donald, St. John’s, Jr., G
Donald tied a career-high seven rebounds and added 11 points in the 62-55 win over the Friars. She matched a career-best 13 points in just a 3:58 span, including three 3-pointers as part of a 22-0 scoring stretch versus Xavier.
 
Faith Masonius, Seton Hall, Gr., G
Masonius had a team-high 21 points to go with seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in the team’s 72-55 win at DePaul. Earlier in the week against Butler, she contributed 12 points and four rebounds in 12 minutes of work.
 
Bronagh Power-Cassidy, Villanova, Gr., G
Bronagh scored 14 points on 5-for-9 shooting from the field, including 4-for-5 from 3-point range as the Wildcats defeated Marquette, 65-53.
