BIG EAST Player of the Week
Carsen Brandt, Marquette, So., A (Edina, Minn.)
Brandt scored a career-high four goals and tied a career best with six points in a 13-8 win over St. John’s on Saturday. The win was Marquette’s fourth in a row, as the Golden Eagles improved to 6-3 on the year and 1-0 in conference play. The sophomore attackman scored just 1:33 into regulation and capped the day with a pair of fourth quarter tallies to seal the win. He also caused a pair of turnovers in the conference victory.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Beau Kemler, Villanova, So., D (Fair Haven, N.J.)
Kemler tied a career-high causing three turnovers in Villanova’s conference opening win over Denver on Saturday. The sophomore defenseman also doubled his previous career-best with 10 ground balls in the 10-9 overtime triumph. Kemler became the first Villanova non-faceoff specialist to total double-digit ground balls since May 5, 2016.

BIG EAST Specialist of the Week
Tyler Sandoval, Villanova, Gr., FOS (Garden City, N.Y.)
Sandoval went 13-for-16 (.813) at the center “X” and picked up six ground balls in the Wildcats’ conference opening win over Denver. The graduate student’s final win to start overtime gave Villanova a crucial possession that led to the game winning goal. His performance helped Villanova win the faceoff battle against Denver for only the second time since the Pioneers joined the BIG EAST in 2014. Sandoval won nine faceoffs in a row from the start of the second quarter until 1:37 left in the final frame. He set a new season best with his win rate in a single game and now holds a .632-win percentage on the year.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Pax Marshall, Georgetown, R-Fr., A (Victor, N.Y.)
Marshall led the Hoyas scoring attack in the conference opening win over Providence, 14-13, tallying four goals. The redshirt-freshman also collected three ground balls and was credited with a caused turnover.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Fulton Bayman, Georgetown, Gr., A
Bayman dished out five assists, and notched a goal to lead Georgetown to a win on Saturday. He also picked up five ground balls in the victory.
Peter Detwiler, Marquette, Jr., SSDM
Detweiler scored his first goal of the year on Saturday to give the Golden Eagles an early 2-0 lead, while also collecting five ground balls and causing three turnovers.
Bobby O’Grady, Marquette, Sr., A
O’Grady tallied four goals and collected an assist in Saturday’s win over St. John’s.
Jack Horrigan, Providence, Sr., A
Horrigan tied a career-high with six points, on a season best five goals, in addition to dishing out an assist and picking up a pair of ground balls.
Colin Michener, Villanova, R-So., A
Michener scored the game-winning goal in overtime to lead the Wildcats to a 10-9 road win over Denver. Overall, he had two goals, three assists and two ground balls in the contest.
