BIG EAST Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors Announced (4.15.25)

Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Brett Lehman, Providence, St.
Lehman set both the program and facility record in the men’s 400m, placing first with a time of 46.99 at the Friar Invitational. The senior sprinter became the first Friar in program history to break 47 seconds in the event.
 
Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Josh Mooney, UConn, So.
Mooney excelled in the javelin throw at the Crimson Tide Invitational, with a toss of 68.01m. The mark ranks first in the conference, 10th in program history and 36th nationally.
 
Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Faith Kiplimo, UConn, Fr.
Kiplimo placed second in the 3000m steeplechase at the Crimson Tide Invitational with a time of 10:07.45, the second fastest mark in UConn outdoor program history. Her performance tops the BIG EAST in the spring and ranks 14th nationally.
 
Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Jamora Alves, St. John’s, Jr.
Alves competed in both the shot put and the discus at the South Florida Invitational, earning a place on the podium in both events. In the shot put, she placed second with a throw of 15.43 meters. The junior earned the Bronze in the discus with a distance of 52.07m.
 
Notable Performance
  • Xavier’s Brock Harris won the 400m dash and the 4x100m event at the Norse Track Invitational.
  • Barrett Justema of Georgetown claimed first place in the women's steeplechase at the Duke Invitational, recording a personal-best time of 10:20.02, a performance that now ranks sixth all-time in the Georgetown outdoor track and field record book.
  • Creighton’s Jacob Ludwick placed second and broke a school record with a throw of 64.43m in the javelin throw.
  • Marquette’s Sophie Herriot captured gold in the pole vault at the Marquette Invitational with a PR clearing 3.81m.
