Matsatsa shattered his own school record in the 800m at the Florida Relays and placed first overall with a time of 1:45.04. The time was 0.12 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Handal Roban of Penn State and is the top time nationally this spring.
Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Enaji Muhammad

Muhammad set a personal best in the high jump on Friday at the UConn Dog Fight Invitational, winning the event with a performance of 2.14m, helping lead the men’s team to second place finish in the meet. The 2.14m jump ranks as the seventh best performance in program history in the outdoor long jump.
Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Charlotte Tomkinson, Georgetown, Gr.
At the Ebanks Invitational, Tomkinson crossed the finish line to earn the gold medal in the 800m with a time of 2:04.73. The time ranks 17
th nationally and second in the BIG EAST this spring.
Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Natalia Surdej, UConn, Sr.
Surdej won the hammer throw at the UConn Dog Fight Invite on Friday, with a throw of 59.14m, as the UConn women's side secured the top score of 188.5 points.
Notable Performances
- Marquette’s Riley Ward finished second in the javelin with a mark of 41.24m at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational, good for the second-best throw in program history. In addition, Cole Donahe threw a new PR of 59.62m in the men’s javelin to finish second, as well as secure the third-best throw in Golden Eagle history.
- Creighton’s Marcos Gonzalez won the 3000m Steeplechase at the University of South Dakota Early Bird with a time of 9:25.26.
