BIG EAST Player of the Week
Connor Capece, Creighton, So., C (Omaha, Neb.)
Capece led Creighton to a 4-0 week with a .462 average, scoring seven runs and five RBI. Capece capped the week with a home run in the regular season finale, as the Bluejays clinched a share of the BIG EAST regular season title and the top-overall seed in the 2025 BIG EAST Baseball Championship Presented by JEEP. He went 6-for-13 during the week, including 5-for-12 (.417) against the Hoyas. Against Georgetown, Connor delivered all five of his RBI as well as four of his seven runs scored.
BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Dominic Cancellieri, Creighton, Gr., RHP (Wayne, N.J.)
Cancellieri continued his dominant close to the season with seven innings of one run ball to earn his second consecutive win. The Bluejay ace held Georgetown to three hits and one walk, while striking out seven. Cancellieri needed just 91 pitches against the Hoyas. Over the last two weeks he has allowed one run over 14.1 innings, limiting Xavier and Georgetown to nine hits and two walks.
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Charlie West, UConn, So., LHP
West pitched seven innings of one run ball against Maine, striking out seven batters and allowing just four hits and no walks.
Caleb Shpur, UConn, Gr., OF
Shpur batted 8-for-15 in a 3-1 week for the Huskies, collecting seven RBI and three walks, while scoring five times, and hitting two home runs.
Shaun McMillan, St. John’s, Fr., DH
McMillan posted a .467/.438/.733 slash line on seven hits with a double and a home run against Butler. The slugger also registered seven RBI and four runs scored.
Aiden Robbins, Seton Hall, So., OF
Robbins helped Seton Hall go 2-1 in its final week of the season, defeating Villanova twice on the road. Robbins batted a team-best .571 in three games last week, including two doubles and two walks.
Josue Valdez, Villanova, Sr., C
Valdez closed his Villanova career by hitting two home runs over the weekend and tying a career-high three RBI in Friday’s win over Seton Hall. The senior had a .369 batting average and a .909 slugging percentage during the week.
