NEW YORK – A.J. Wilhelm of Xavier and Johan Widal of Marquette shared the first weekly BIG EAST Men's Golf honors of the 2026 spring season.
Wilhelm finished in a tie for third among a field of 87 golfers, with an 8-under total score of 208 at the Lake Jovita Invitational in Dade City, Fla. The junior helped Xavier take home the team title - the Musketeers' third straight tournament win dating back to the 2025 fall season.
Widal tied for 14th, with a 9-under score of 207 in a talented field at the Puerto Rico Classic. The senior recorded a trio of 69's on the scorecard, helping the Golden Eagles finish 10th in a field with eight teams ranked among the top 50. Marquette finished above No. 29 Louisville and No. 37 Purdue.

Wilhelm recorded his best collegiate finish at the Lake Jovita Invitational from Feb. 9-10. The junior finished in a tie for third place among the field of 87 golfers. He opened tournament play with a 69 (-3), followed by a second round 68 (-7) on Feb. 9. He closed with a final round 71 (-1). His total score of 208 put him at 8-under for the tournament.
Johan Widal, Marquette, Sr.
Widal finished at 9-under par for the Golden Eagles at the Puerto Rico Classic. The senior from Halmstad, Sweden registered a 3-under 69 in each of the three rounds of competition. He moved up eight spots during the final round of play, finishing ahead of 11 players ranked inside the top 150 nationally.
