BIG EAST Player of the Week
Makena Alexander, Jr., INF, Butler
Alexander was nearly perfect on the week, batting .857 in a trio of wins for the Bulldogs. The junior earned 6 hits and was walked six times on 13 at bats. She also added a triple and a home run, while scoring three runs and contributing six RBI with a 1.571 slugging percentage.
BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Ana Serafinko, Sr., LHP, St. John’s
Serafinko dominated the mound with a perfect 3-0 record on the week, pitching 20.2 innings. The senior lefty allowed just one run, while striking out 34 batters and allowing just a 0.157 hitting percentage against and a 0.34 ERA.
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Caprice Bohmer, Fr., P, UConn
Bohmer pitched 16.1 innings, giving up four earned runs and striking out 18 batters, while tossing a pair of complete games. She pitched a complete game victory over Akron, striking out a game-high 11 batters.
Honor Roll
Katie Petran, Jr., P, Butler
Petran pitched a complete-game shutout against Tennessee State (12-0), allowing three hits, no walks and striking out six batters in five innings of work.
Jessica Walter, Gr., P, UConn
Walter started two games and made three appearances, allowing three hits and zero earned runs in 8.0 innings of work. Overall, she struck out nine batters.
Chelseas Parker, So., INF, DePaul
Parker went 10-for-15 at the plate and was responsible for six of the team’s eight RBI over the weekend. She hit three home runs in a quintet of games.
Emily Collins, So., P, Georgetown
Collins pitched seven scoreless innings, and allowed just four hits, while striking out six batters on the week.
Cassidy Stouffer, Sr., OF, St. John’s
Stouffer batted 5-for-9 with three runs and three RBI in a 4-1 week. She smashed one home run, earned two walks and had 0.889 SLG.
