BIG EAST Player of the Week
Jeremy Sheffield, Georgetown, Sr., INF (Chesterfield, Mo.)
Sheffield helped Georgetown to a four-game series sweep over Saint Peter’s. In the four-game series he batted 8-for-16 with 10 RBI and five runs, to go along with four doubles, a triple and a home run. In the dominating series he also stole two bases and earned two walks. His biggest performance came in the third game with a 5-for-5 hitting performance, collecting four RBI, scoring twice and hitting a pair of doubles and one triple. Including a mid-week setback against Maryland, he batted 9-for-20 with five runs scored.
BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Charlie West, UConn, Jr., LHP (South Setauket, N.Y.)
West dominated the mound in 6.2 innings of work against Arizona, featuring just three hits allowed. Overall, he struck out nine batters with zero runs allowed. After maneuvering around traffic in the first two frames, the junior settled into the ballgame and went through a stretch of retiring 10 Wildcats in a row from the second inning until the fifth.
Honor Roll
Jackson Marshall, UConn, So., 1B
Marshall batted 10-for-23 with four runs scored, six RBI, two home runs and four walks earned in a 3-2 week for the Huskies.
Connor Peek, Georgetown, Gr., INF
Peek had nine runs and seven RBI over a 4-1 week, batting 8-for-16 with two walks and a home run.
Spencer Seid, Georgetown, Gr., LHP
Seid struck out six batters in 5.2 scoreless innings of a 13-0 win over Saint Peter’s.
Aiden Dill, Seton Hall, So., OF
Dill has hits in all three games over the weekend, as the Pirates went 2-1 at the Swig & Swine Classic in Charleston, S.C. Overall, he batted 6-for-11 with three RBI, five runs, six walks and a home run.
Colin Quintano, Villanova, Sr., UTIL
Quintano had three hits, five RBI, three runs, two walks, two hit by pitches, a double and a home run in a 1-1 weekend for the Wildcats.
