BIG EAST Player of the Week
Adam Agresti, St. John’s, R-So., C/1B (Yorktown, N.Y.)
Agresti was sensational for St. John’s in five-game week, making the most of his 15 at bats. The junior recorded six hits and walked six times, resulting in six runs scored and 12 RBI. Agresti blasted five home runs in the quintet of outings. He scored at least one run in every game and had a multi-home run outing in the opening series win against Charlotte. After hitting his fifth home run in four games, including his third in three games against the 49ers, he was walked six times over the final eight at bats against Charlotte.
BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Jack Kelley, Villanova, Gr., RHP (Temecula, Calif.)
Kelley picked up his first win of the season, pitching 6.0 scoreless innings in a 5-0 win over Charleston Southern. The graduate right-handed pitcher struck out seven batters and allowed just two base hits in the dominating performance. He threw 87 pitches and faced 23 batters in the win.
Honor Roll
Chris Polemeni, UConn, R-Jr., OF
Polemeni registered 10 hits, five runs and seven RBI for the Huskies. He blasted a home run and collected two doubles on the week.
Ben North, Creighton, Gr., SS
North led Creighton with seven hits, a .500 average, five RBI and three stolen bases in a 3-1 week against No. 13 LSU and Tulane.
Ty Acker, Seton Hall, Gr., INF
Acker batted a team-best .538 for the Pirates during a 3-1 week, including a perfect 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Saturday’s win over Brown. Overall, he had four RBI and three doubles.
Mason Christopher, Seton Hall, So., LHP
Christopher worked six shutout innings and struck out four in the win over Brown on Sunday. He allowed just two base hits to earn his second win of the season.
Clay Burdette, Xavier, Jr., OF
Burdette batted a team-best .476 over six games last week, including four hits for extra bases among a team-high 10 hits.
