BIG EAST Player of the Week
Clay Burdette, Xavier, Jr., OF (Cincinnati)
After sitting out the first seven games due to injury, Burdette batted a team-best .545 through four games last week, finishing with a team-high matching six hits, also getting aboard with a walk and three hit-by pitches for a team-leading .588 on-base percentage. Burdette also matched for team high with three RBI and four runs scored. In Xavier’s midweek match-up against IU, he went 3-for-3 and was hit by a pitch in his first game of the season, coming around to score a pair of runs. In Xavier’s 3-0 win to open the series against Cal State Fullerton, Burdette finished 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI on two sacrifice flies. In the Musketeers series clinching win, he scored a run after getting aboard on a hit-by-pitch. In the finale with the Titans, he went 1-for-3 with a walk, driving in an RBI and scoring a run.
BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Ryan Piech, Xavier, Jr., RHP (Aurora, Ohio)
In Xavier’s 3-0 win of the series opener against Cal State Fullerton, Piech pitched 6.0 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out 10 batters. He topped his career-high of nine Ks set last week against Arkansas. Piech picked up the win, his first of the season. Overall, Piech combined with Garrett Helsel to limit Fullerton to a season-low two hits in the outing, while striking out 14, in the Xavier staff's first shutout of the season.

Max Winders, Butler, So., RHP
Winders with five innings of a 7-2 win over Marshall, allowing just one hit and one run, while striking out eight batters.
Cayden Suchy, UConn, So., LHP
Suchy struck out 12 batters in a 2-1 setback, not allowing a run and giving up just four hits in seven innings of work.
Ben North, Creighton, Gr., INF
North batted .500 (7-for-14), and scored three runs for the Bluejays. The infielder added two RBI on the offensive end, while defensively collecting eight put outs and 11 assists.
Kai Leckszas, Georgetown, Sr., RHP
Leckszas struck out six batters and allowed just run on four its in six innings of work, to lead Georgetown to a 12-1 win over FDU.
Evan Chaffee, St. John’s, R-Jr., LHP
Chaffee pitched 6.2 innings and allowed just one earned run, while collecting six strikeouts against no. 15 Kentucky.
