Five Teams Sit Under Par Through Two Rounds of the BIG EAST Men’s Golf Championship

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – After a washout on Saturday forced the opening round off the schedule, teams returned to a picture-perfect morning and prime scoring conditions at Riverton Point Golf and Country Club.
 
With a two-round shotgun start built into the revised format, the opening two rounds of the 2026 BIG EAST Men’s Golf Championship Presented by Jeep closed with Marquette (565) holding a two-stroke advantage on DePaul (567) and a three-stroke lead on Xavier (568) at the top of the leaderboard.
 
The course remained competitive all day, beginning with a strong start across the conference in the first round. Marquette (-6, 282) opened with a stroke lead on Xavier (283) through 18 holes. Three other teams joined the Golden Eagles and Musketeers at under par in the morning portion, with Creighton (285) and DePaul (285) both finishing just four shots back, while UConn (286) followed closely behind.

Rounding out the first round scores, Georgetown sat in sixth (289), followed by St. John’s (290), Butler (291), Villanova (293), Seton Hall (297) and Providence (300).
 
In the afternoon portion, Xavier and Marquette continued to exchange positions at the top of the leaderboard, while DePaul surged up the team standings with a 6-under, 282 second round score.
 
Entering Monday’s final round, UConn (571) and Creighton (572) round out the top five each hitting under par, while St. John’s (576) is in sixth at even par. Rounding out the group, Villanova (578) sits in seventh place, followed by Georgetown (580), Butler (585), Seton Hall (587) and Providence (597).

At the top of the individual leaderboard, Xavier’s Cayse Morgan and Villanova’s Ryan Palmer sit in a tie for first at 6-under-par. Morgan capped the opening two rounds with seven birdies and 28 pars, while Pamer birdied eight times. Closely behind in a tie for third, UConn’s Bradley Sawka and Matthew Costello wrapped up Sunday’s 36 holes at 5-under. Overall, 19 golfers enter the final round at par or better. 

Third round action is scheduled to tee off at 8:30 a.m. ET on hole one and 8:50 a.m. on hole 10 Monday morning. GKLive.TV continues to provide online coverage of the tournament. There are no subscription fees to watch the event.
